His Prized Possession

He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
James 1:18 (NLT)

What a marvelous plan. How can a Holy God, who gave us a free will to live the way we choose, allow us to live in our human sinfulness? How can He reconcile His love for us? James says it is by offering us a second birth. By using our human choice, God gives us the option to become His child and be born again by His Spirit. Jesus said it first. He told a ruler of the religious group of His day, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” The Scriptures makes it plain that Christ’s sacrifice for our sins cleanses us from all our unrighteousness. Jesus again said, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” His love validates what James wrote, “We, out of all creation, became His prized possession.” Today, believe it, rejoice in it, live like it is true. You are His prized possession!

Dear Jesus, thank You for becoming a sacrifice for me. Thank You for making it possible that I could be born again. Help me today to believe what You came to tell me; because of You, I am one of God’s prized possessions. Bless You, my dear Lord.
